2nd International Conference on Anticipation

8 November, 2017 - 10 November, 2017

The Second International Conference on Anticipation (November 8-10, 2017 – London) provides an interdisciplinary meeting ground in which researchers, scholars and practitioners who are seeking to understand anticipation and anticipatory practices can come together to deepen their understanding and create productive new connections.

To that purpose a call for papers has now been opened. Another great opportunity to share your ideas, visions and techniques with fellow futurists. Here are some of the suggested subjects:

  • How do we understand anticipatory differences?
  • How do different cultures, religions and traditions anticipate the future?
  • What are the affective and embodied aspects of Anticipation?
  • How do we live in time?
  • What is the present? How soon is now?
  • How does the future get made?
  • Who owns and governs the future?
  • How to keep the future open?
  • What is the relationship between an idea of the future and action in the present?
  • How do mathematical and statistical models, futures scenarios and plans relate and translate (or not) into action in the present?

More details about the event and the various topics are available here (PDF), or take a look at the Project Anticipation website!
